The Change Agents set out to intorduce our peers to the amazing local organizations focused on social justice, health and wellness, and overall positivity. Our research brought us to reach and out to eight organizations.

Children Striving Together
With a mission of supporting at-risk youth and families, this organization provides enriching programs that their youth are interested in such as art, dance, volunteer opportunities, sports and much more!
Compton 125 Historical Society
The Compton 125 Historical Society aims to connect the Compton youth to Compton's past by exposing them to the history of our city. Through their programs and services, they are able to ingrain in Compton residents a greater appreciation and understanding of their neighborhood.
Compton Artists Alliance
The Compton Artists Alliance is an art organization in Compton, California that was created to maintain and establish a lifelong art culture in their community.

"By the Youth. For the Youth", this program was created to connect high school and college students from across Los Angeles to empower them to create change. Some projects they have done include feeding impoverished neighborhoods and raise money for the Flint Michigan water crisis.
Moonwater Farm
Moonwater Farm is an urban micro farm in Compton, California that aims to expose it's residents to food preparation, livestock raising and organic farming. It was created by both Kathleen Blakistone and her partner Richard Daurt in an attempt to do something about food justice in Los Angeles.
Movement Runners
This organization was started by Kit John in order to help first time runners prepare for 5k, 10ks and full marathons. In addition to helping people get fit through running, this organization also gives back to the Los Angeles community by giving out shoes, clothes, hygiene products and other necessities to the homeless in Skid Row.
SBCC Thrive LA
The SBCC Thrive LA empowers families, individuals and communities through their resident-led and community-driven through access to social networks, services and support, and economic opportunities. As an organization, they've established a core commitment to place the gifts, talents and leadership capacities of neighborhoods first.
Yetunde Price Resource Center
The Yetunde Price Resource Center was created by both Serena and Venus Williams after their older sister Yetunde was tragedically killed in Compton in 2003. The Center ensures that anyone who was impacted by violence, directly or indirectly, could access the resources they needed to flourish physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially.
